March: Aquamarine & Staff Favorites

Since March is when Spring begins to spring, it’s only fitting that the birthstone of the month brings warm thoughts.

Aquamarine is beloved for its unmistakable ocean hues; those blue and green colors that truly pop. Like a beautiful day at the beach, aquamarine is a refreshing breath of fresh air. Its signature clarity comes from its ability to let light pass through, giving it an aqueous and watery vibe that has captivated people for centuries.

Similar in makeup to the emerald, aquamarine is also a form of the mineral beryl, and it gets its luxurious blueish/green color from trace elements of iron. Historians say that ancient mariners (not the Seattle ones) thought aquamarine was the treasure of mermaids, which supposedly helped them with seasickness.
