FEBRUARY BIRTHSTONE
February’s favorite gemstone is best known for being a “remedy against drunkenness.” Hey, don’t blame us, this is what the ancient Greeks who named it thought. Maybe it’s true. Or maybe they accidently discovered the cure to a hangover while wearing amethyst for the first time.
Either way, amethyst is beloved for its orchid hues and ability to keep you clear-headed. Thanks to its stunning purple colors, Greek mythology associated it with Bacchus, the god of wine. The lore also states that wearers of this vivacious, violet stone are blessed with strength and wit. That could be the wine talking, though.
